UR Center for RNA Biology Hosts RNA Symposium with University at Albany

Symposium posterThe event will provide a forum for faculty and students to present their research and network with colleagues, and will feature speakers from companies with origins in UAlbany and UR research programs, including Codomax, SupreMEtric, Scriptr and sxRNA.

“Rochester and Albany comprise the two strongholds of RNA-centric research in upstate New York and have a long history of working together,” said Lynne Maquat, founding director of the Center for RNA Biology. “The growth in RNA research and human health applications means that the next generation of RNA researchers are in high demand and the upcoming symposium is a perfect opportunity for New York industry to recruit these talented trainees.”

The symposium will take place March 16-17; registration is open until March 12 for both in-person attendees and virtual participants.

Our Keynote Retreat Speaker this year is Dr. Jerry Workman, Investigator; Director of Postdoc Affairs, Stowers Institute for Medical Research, Kansas City, MO. His talk title is “Signaling through Chromatin for Transcription and Metabolism”. His host is Dr. Jeff Hayes. The T32 Retreat this year will be co-sponsored by Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) and a supplement to the NIH NIGMS T32 in Cellular, Biochemical and Molecular Sciences.
