Twelve 4 week rotation blocks, including:

  • Two Thoracic blocks
  • Five Cardiac OR blocks

  • Vacation days that equal 25 days for vacation and meetings


Cardiac Fellows are offered three lectures per week throughout their fellowship training.

  • Pharmacology of inotropes
  • Thoracic Aortic Disease
  • Minimally invasive surgery
  • Pharmacology of vasodilators and vasoconstrictors
  • Surgery on the thoracic aorta
  • Neoplastic and infectious disease of the heart
  • Anticoagulation for CPB and reversal
  • Pacemakers

  • A scholarly project in research, medical education,quality improvement, or another field prior to graduation.
