Application Process General Information Applications will only be accepted through the Association of American Medical College's (AAMC) Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Minimum qualifications include a medical degree, such as an M.D. or a D.O., successful completion of United States Medical Licensing Examination Step 1, and J-1 visa or permanent resident status (if not a U.S. citizen). The only acceptable status is an ECFMG sponsored J-1 visa. We also recognize "green cards." The University of Rochester policy does not permit H-1 or H-1b visas.
