Couples Match

We welcome applications from candidates in the couples match.

The strength of the training programs across different specialty fields makes Rochester a great fit for many couples. The "livability" of Rochester, with its low cost of living (e.g., many residents buy houses here), ease of getting around, and broad range of indoor and outdoor activities, makes Rochester an ideal community for young couples.

While matching call schedules can’t be guaranteed, we work very hard to help couples align their schedule priorities, especially their vacations, whether both members are residents in our Internal Medicine program or one member is in a different specialty’s residency program in Rochester.

We consistently have several residents in our Internal Medicine program whose spouse or significant other is also training in a University of Rochester residency or fellowship.
