Strong Memorial Hospital

University of Rochester Medical Center (Strong Memorial Hospital)

The University of Rochester Medical Center is a 722 bed tertiary care center that serves as the main teaching hospital for the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, including the OB/GYN residency programs. 

Outside of Highland HospitalHighland Hospital

Highland Hospital is a 268 bed community hospital affiliated with the University of Rochester that serves as the program’s second clinical site where both general OB/GYN and GYN Oncology training occur. A rotating group of university and community faculty attendings provide resident supervision on labor & delivery and in the GYN operating rooms. The GYN Oncology faculty provides supervision to the residents on that rotation. The Community OB/GYN (COB) clinic is based through Highland Hospital and serves as one of the continuity clinic sites for our residents; COB is a 15 minute drive from the University of Rochester Medical Center. Highland Hospital is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the University of Rochester Medical Center.

This location opened in 2011 and is dedicated to women’s health services including UR Medicine, Gender Wellness, Obstetrics & Gynecology where residents rotate on the Ambulatory service and most residents have their continuity clinics. The subspecialty clinical offices for GYN Specialties (vulvar disorders, menopause, pediatric GYN, pelvic pain) and the GYN Oncology practice has their clinical offices in this location. On-site ultrasound, genetics, social work, women’s mental health services are available. UR Medicine, Gender Wellness, Obstetrics & Gynecology is being developed as a medical home for our community with an Internal Medicine preceptor and subspecialty consultants available on site. The center is an 8 minute walk from the University of Rochester Medical Center. 

Front of Red Creek BuildingRed Creek Women’s Center

The Red Creek Women’s Center houses the OB/GYN departments subspecialty clinical offices for our Adult Pelvic Health and Continence Center, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility services, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Ultrasound. The center is a 15 minute drive from the University of Rochester Medical Center. 

Sawgrass Ambulatory Surgery Center

Sawgrass is upstate New York’s largest hospital-affiliated ambulatory surgery center and features 10 operating suites and three procedure rooms equipped with advanced technology for optimal care, and spacious facilities for enhanced comfort and privacy for patients and families. Residents participate in surgical cases here while rotating on Inpatient Gynecology at URMC.
