Special Projects and Professional Passions: I’m interested in messages in medicine – how we communicate with the population at large. Ideally, Id like to work on a project that involves local schools to improve health and wellness literacy via video and on the web. Clinically, Im interested in the PICU. I love the intersection of clinical medicine, ethics, and communication that exists in the PICU.

I also have an interest in bench research, and am particularly interested in getting some experience in nephrology research. I also have an interest in community health.

Why I Chose Rochester: For me, U of R was the perfect program. The residency program seems truly dedicated to education, I really liked the faculty, and most of all I felt very comfortable with the residents I met at my interview. I am unsure if I want to pursue primary care or a subspecialty, and I believe that I can get a great education here for whichever field I choose.

Special Projects and Professional Passions: I am currently working on research about Infantile Batten Disease (aka CLN1 Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis), a devastating neurodegenerative disease that affects mostly children. I am passionate about furthering our understanding of childhood neurologic conditions.

Special Projects/Interests: I am passionate about the field of pediatric hematology and oncology as well as improving transition of care and advocacy for adolescent patients living with chronic illness, particularly sickle cell disease and cancer. My current research involves addressing the educational needs of adolescent patients with sickle cell disease in order to improve transition to the adult healthcare system.

Why I Chose Rochester: Where to start!? Rochester is a great food town. My bucket list of restaurants that I want to go to has been shrinking over the past 2 years, but there are still a ton that I have yet to try, and many new openings to add to the list every few months. Rochester is also a great beer/ craft cocktail city- again there are many more places that I am hoping to try in the next year. Spring summer and fall in Rochester are an awesome time. Wine tours are close by in the finger lakes, festivals with live music are plentiful through most of the spring, summer and fall. Rochester is also a good music/ art city- Eastman school of music, large and small concert venues, a great art gallery! The list could continue.

Special Projects/Interests: Evaluating correlation between cardiovascular fitness, BMI and demographic data in Rochester City School District students. I am going into Cardiology and interested in cardiac critical care.

Why I Chose Rochester: I was first drawn to Rochester for the amazing outdoor activities and it's cultural diversity. What ultimately made me choose Rochester, as cliche as this sounds, was the people. You can't imagine how genuinely nice people are here and how committed they are to your success

Why I Chose Rochester: I loved the program (friendly, cohesive environment), my partner also loved the OB/GYN program, and the location is close to my family in Buffalo
