Deane Lab Postdoctoral Position
Rashid Deane at the University of Rochester School of Medicine seeks an enthusiastic and skilled researcher to join our team. The post-doctoral position is NIH funded. Projects involve using MRI and fluorescence (NR) imaging the brains of mice (Alzheimer’s disease model) in vivo, analyzing brain section and samples (fluorescence, ELISA and Western blots).Methods include but not limited to analysis of CSF and ISF distribution of macromolecules in the aging brain. These projects include collaborations with Drs. Edmund Kwok, Jianhui and Ron Wood. The postdoc will also work with a technician.
The post-doctoral fellow will be a member of the Department of Neuroscience, the Center for Visual Sciences, and the Ernest J. Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience. The University of Rochester community encourages interactions among researchers in neurology
and psychiatry, neuroscience, genetics, physics, computer science, engineering, biology, brain and cognitive sciences spanning the School of Medicine, the School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Engineering. This position is 1-year initial appointment with
opportunities for yearly renewal.
Eligible applicants will have (or about to receive) a PhD or MD/PhD in physiology, pharmacology, cell biology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline and have experience in brain imaging and analysis (MRI and fluorescence), Western blot analysis, ELISA, small animal surgery and two-photon microscopy. Candidates with mathematical/data analysis backgrounds, and interests in disease modeling and interdisciplinary research are especially encouraged to apply.
