Pediatrics Postdoctoral Position
NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Pediatrics. The laboratory of Dr. Arshad Rahman investigates molecular signaling pathways critically involved in vascular inflammation and endothelial barrier dysfunction associated with acute lung injury (ALI). The project will utilize multidisciplinary approaches ranging from biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology to in vivo gene delivery and lung physiology are used to study pulmonary endothelium responses during acute and chronic lung inflammation/injury.
Qualified applicants should have a recent PhD or MD/PhD degree. The successful candidate is highly motivated, has effective bench, leadership and interpersonal skills; works well in a team-oriented culture and has effective oral and written communication skills. Salary is commensurate with experience and based on current NIH guidelines.
Special Skills Required
Scientists with strong research experiences in cell culture and animal work using mouse models. Expertise in biochemical, cell and molecular and cellular biology techniques including western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, qPCR, lentiviral-mediated gene transfer, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy and gene expression analysis is required.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Proven ability to publish and present research data is required.
