Postdoctoral Position in Lee Lab
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Yi-Fen Lee, Ph.D., Professor in the Department of Urology, Pathology, and Wilmot Cancer Institute, University of Rochester. Research projects focus on characterizing mechanisms by which tumor derived extracellular vesicles (TEVs) promote field cancerization of bladder (Wu et al, JBC, 2019) and how smoking cigarettes synergistically stimulates the TEVs-induced oncogenic process, and compare this oncogenic potency to E-cigarette and flavor compounds. Our studies contribute to understanding the high recurrence rate and disease progression posed by bladder cancer patients who smoke and the potential oncogenic risk induced by e-cigarettes and flavored compounds. Projects are multidiscipline and translational, integrating both cell & mouse models and patient samples derived from bladder cancer patients.
Priority will be given to energetic and motivated candidates who have a strong background in molecular and cell culture techniques, first-hand experience with mouse handling and tissue preparation for protein, gene expression and immunohistochemistry. Candidates should forward an electronic version of: 1) Cover Letter, 2) a C.V. including a short statement of research interests, career goals and citizenship/green card status and 3) contacts for three references to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
