Postdoctoral Position in the Laboratory of Joshua Munger
A post-doctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Joshua Munger, who holds appointments in the Departments of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC). Our laboratory couples LC-MS/MS based analysis with molecular genetic approaches to elucidate the mechanisms through which Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) manipulates the cellular environment to ensure productive infection.
Available projects in the lab include:
Identify how HCMV manipulates cellular metabolic regulation to support infection; and,
Determine how HCMV modulates innate immunity to support both lytic and latent infection.
Additional information can be obtained at the following web page: https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/labs/munger-lab.aspx or by contacting Dr. Munger at the address below.
Candidates should have a Ph.D in a Virology, Biochemistry or related field. Priority will be given to motivated candidates with a strong background and prior experience in molecular biology, virology or mass spectrometry. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently as well as in collaborative settings is required.
Candidates should provide a cover letter, CV, a short statement of research experience, interests and goals, and contact information for three professional references. Please, send all application materials electronically to:
