EHSC Histology Core
The following Environmental Health Sciences Facilities and Cores are not currently receiving or processing samples or conducting experiments due to the University-wide COVID-19 response to cease all non-essential research activities: Behavioral Sciences Facility, Epigenetics Facility, Elemental Analysis Facility, Inhalation Exposure Facility, and Histology Core. Facility and Core staff are still available to respond to inquiries and provide remote consultation related to projects that can be executed at our facilities and cores once the current restrictions on research activities are lifted. The EHSC Histology Core facility provides uniform and timely processing embedding, sectioning and routine histological staining of human and experimental animal tissue. Also provides recommendations to investigators for methods of acquisition and handling of tissue to optimize histological investigation.
The histology core provides the following services:
- Tissue processing
- Paraffin Embedding
- Paraffin sectioning
- Frozen sectioning
- Histochemical stains
