EHSC EXPAND Core (EXPosure, ANalytical and Dose Core)
The EXPAND core is comprised of two main facilities: The Elemental Analysis Facility and the Inhalation Exposure Facility.
The overall mission of the EXPAND Core is to engage and assist investigators in Environmental Health Science Center (EHSC) related research in the implementation and characterization of the biological and toxicological effects of environmental agents.
Elemental Analysis Facility
For quantification of elements (e.g. metals and non-metals) across a full range of biological mediums and animal tissues from both laboratory- and environment- derived samples.
Inhalation Exposure Facility
For controlled exposures to, and physico-chemical characterization of, aerosols and airborne particulates using rodent and cell culture models in addition to human exposures.
