Integrative Health Sciences Facility Core
The Integrative Health Sciences Facility Core (IHSFC) was established in 2007 to provide tools and approaches that facilitate translational studies, as well as to enhance partnerships among researchers, Medical Center units such as the URMC's Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and community-based organizations that impact the conduct of clinical and public health research. The IHSFC is designed to assist basic science investigators in moving their research in the direction of clinical/translational studies through the use of appropriate animal models of disease, human tissues, or direct clinical and public health applications. In addition, the IHSFC also provides clinical scientists with a means to refine questions and approaches to mechanisms, develop more relevant animal models, and increase treatment specificity and efficacy.

Translational Services in Environmental Health Unit
Faculty considering translational research can contact the IHSFC Steering Committee for assistance in identifying potential collaborators, acquiring funding, conducting Human Subjects research, designing and executing epidemiological and population based studies, accessing on-site repositories of samples and tissues from human subjects and obtaining histology services. Behavioral Sciences Facility
The Behavioral Sciences Facility provides state–of–the–art equipment and expertise necessary for the design and interpretation of human and animal behaviors in order to assess sensory, motor, motivational and cognitive functioning. The facility assists investigators with behavioral assessments, utilizing established procedures and tests, or when necessary, developing new behavioral paradigms. Animal/Human Inhalation Facility
The Inhalation Facility contains both human and animal exposure facilities, providing a unique opportunity to study the effects of aerosol exposure on humans and animal models. See the Animal/Human Inhalation Facility page for contact information.
