Poster presentations fostered lively discussion during the symposium
The IHHE and the EHSC co-hosted the Pregnancy: A Critical Window for Maternal-Child Health research symposium on April 9th, 2026. The symposium featured a wide variety of research related to pregnancy, children’s health and how the environment impacts pregnancy. The event gathered 129 faculty, staff, and students for featured keynote presentations, short talks, and a poster session.
Margaret Petroff, PhD (Michigan State University), Theresa Powell, PhD (University of Colorado), Center member Hitesh Deshmukh, MD, PhD, and Jennie Noll, PhD (University of Rochester) gave keynote addresses. Speakers and posters highlighted research on asthma, early-life exposures and immune development, effects of environmental exposures on birth outcomes, and more.
