The Sensory Room

The sensory room will be a space with equipment specially designed to help children and youth with autism to "regulate" pre-post clinic visits or to facilitate clinic visits. Youth with autism may have challenged with tolerating sounds, textures, and other sensations.

Sensory designed environments are used to help them manage sensory stressors. In addition, change and transition is very difficult for many youth with asd. The introduction of approaches to calm them using sensory strategies can be very effective.

We will use this room to promote care provision understanding the needs of individuals with autism.
