Tim Yelder

Tim Yelder was suffering from severe heart failure. He couldn't walk 10 yards without stopping to catch his breath. At 35 years old, Tim had the heart of an 85-year-old.

Tim's cardiologist sent him to UR Medicine's Program in Heart Failure and Transplantation. Our doctors put him on the fast track to receive a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), an implantable pump that would assist Tim's own heart.

Tim now has more energy than he has in years—energy that he often uses to encourage other people who are struggling with heart failure and who could benefit from a VAD.
