Our Facility

The Bariatric Surgery Center at Highland Hospital was the first of its kind in our region and we are the premier choice for patients to have weight-loss surgery. Our surgeons are the most respected and most experienced and the expertise of our staff is unmatched. You will also find our Center to be a comfortable, welcoming place where you will spend time during your weight-loss journey.

For easy access our patients can park in the North Parking lot. The lot is located on Rockingham Street with the entrance on Mt. Vernon Ave. When you enter the hospital take the gray elevators to the fourth floor. Specially designed, easy to operate wheelchairs are available at the hospital entrance there (and in the hospital main lobby if you choose to park in the ramp garage and enter that way) for those who need them. A telephone is handy if you need assistance.

The Bariatric Surgery Center is in a private part of the hospital where you will have consultation and physical examination appointments.  Our lobby features comfy couches and roomy chairs. Our consultation and examination rooms have larger doors to accommodate wheelchairs as well as spacious exam room tables and comfortable rest room facilities.  We also have a wheel chair access scale and a designated room for x-rays.

After surgery patients recover a few floors above the center at Highland, where the staff are compassionate and experienced in caring for surgical patients. The floor features a walking track where patients can begin to exercise after surgery and even record the number of laps and length of the walks you take as part of the recovery process. You will be offered special menus to ensure you get the nutrition you need to have a successful recovery.

Highland Hospital also has an in-house pharmacy where you can order your prescriptions before you are discharged. Your surgeons and caregivers specialize in helping patients along their weight-loss journey. We will do everything we can to ensure you feel comfortable, safe and cared for.
