As a leader in women’s health, geriatrics, orthopaedics, and bariatrics, Highland offers many exciting career opportunities, including our residency programs

Nurse Residency Program

A nursing residency program is not a prolonged orientation. Rather, it provides new nurses with deeper connections and more support through formal and informal set of learning opportunities that focus on best practices. These learning opportunities will go above and beyond the hospital and unit-specific orientation.

You’ll be ready to take on bigger challenges and additional responsibilities to become a leader among your peers. You will also develop natural mentor relationships to help you transition from student to professional nurse. Learn More with our Nurse Residency Program Overview .

As a member of our nursing staff, you’ll enjoy:

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
  • Career advancement and continuing education opportunities
  • Flexible scheduling that allows you to balance life’s demands
  • Team structures that will empower you to learn and to lead
  • Mentoring environment that fosters appreciation and respect
  • Educational and technological advantages that come with being part of the University of Rochester Medical Center

Growing our Nurses

We want you to be your personal best, and we’re committed to your learning and career growth no matter where you are in your career. Our patients, the hospital, and you are best served when you feel fulfilled and are advancing. We offer numerous training opportunities, as well as tuition reimbursement and scholarships to help our nurses improve their skills and achieve their career goals.
