Dr. Thomas Carroll Joins GAMA Practice at Highland

Thomas M. Carroll, M.D., Ph.D.

Thomas M. Carroll II, M.D., Ph.D., has joined Geriatrics and Medicine Associates (GAMA) on the Highland Hospital campus. He will be seeing patients and serving as a preceptor to medical residents at the practice.

Dr. Carroll is an assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He recently completed a fellowship in palliative care at URMC. In addition, Dr. Carroll volunteers at St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center, which provides care to the uninsured. He also serves on the Nazareth College Math and Science Advisory Board.

Dr. Carroll earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Nazareth College. He received his medical degree and doctorate from the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Carroll completed his residency in Internal Medicine at URMC, serving as Chief Resident from 2011-12.

In 2011, the Rochester Academy of Medicine awarded Dr. Carroll with the Pulsifer Award, an honor presented yearly to one resident from each of the three local Internal Medicine residency programs.
