Highland Hospital Earns “Best Regional Hospital” Status from U.S. News & World Report

Tuesday, August 2, 2016

Highland Hospital has been recognized as a “Best Regional Hospital” for 2016-17 by U.S. News & World Report. Of nearly 5,000 hospitals whose data were evaluated by U.S. News, barely 10% earned this designation.
In addition, Highland has achieved “High Performing” rankings for five types of adult care, including Heart Failure, Colon Cancer Surgery, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Hip Replacement, and Knee Replacement.
“As part of UR Medicine, we’re proud to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a leading regional hospital that delivers the highest standard of patient- and family-centered care to our community,” said Cindy Becker, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Highland Hospital.
The U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 27th year, help guide patients to hospitals that deliver outstanding care across 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. The Best Hospitals methodologies include objective measures such as patient survival, the number of times a given procedure is performed, infection rates, adequacy of nurse staffing and more.
