Dr. Adina Jucan is the Director of Eastman Dental at Highland. Dr. Jucan moved to Rochester, NY in 2007 after many years of operating a private practice in her native Romania. She completed a General Practice Residency and Geriatric Fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital and Eastman Institute for Oral Health. She specializes is treating older adults and is a faculty member at Eastman Dental at Highland. She attends multiple continuing education courses and is an active member of the American Dental Association, Special Care Dentistry Association, American Geriatric Society and the Monroe County Dental Society.
Dr. Jucan earned her DDS degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Luliu Hatieganu, Romania. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and reading. She and her husband have two children.
Dr. Christopher Calnon is the Assistant Clinical Director at Eastman Dental at Highland. After earning his DDS from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, the Rochester, NY native received advanced specialty training through a General Practice Residency at Strong Memorial Hospital and Eastman Institute for Oral Health. Dr. Calnon remains active in education and attends multiple courses and conferences each year. He has a particular interest in technological advances in dentistry and the benefits this provides to patient care. Dr. Calnon is actively involved in organized dentistry and is the President of the Monroe County Dental Society. He and his wife Jennifer have two children, Erin and Ryan.
Sue Anne Barron, D.D.S.
A Rochester native, Dr. Sue Barron is the previous director of Highland Dental Care and is an associate professor of Clinical Dentistry at Eastman Dental at HIghland and Oral Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital. She has been awarded the Federacion Dentaire Internacioale for Excellence in Removable Prosthodontics, as well as a People to People Ambassador to China for Women in Dentistry under President Clinton. She has a special interest in third world medicine as a model for treating the immigrant population.
Dr. Barron earned her dental degree from Georgetown University and received a Public Health scholarship and Seventh District Dental Society scholarship. She received a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from SUNY Potsdam and another bachelor's in Biology from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Dr. Matt Schwedfeger
A part time faculty member at Eastman Dental at Highland, Dr. Schwedfeger earned his DDS degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery after receiving his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from VIllanova University. He returned to his native Rochester, NY to take advanced education at Strong Memorial Hospital and Eastman Institute for Oral Health. There, he received vast training in treating medically compromised and special needs patients, as well as furthering his education in the cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics and prosthodontics.
He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, NYS Dental Association and the Monroe County Dental Society. Besides dentistry, Dr. Schwedfeger enjoys golf, the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, and Villanova basketball. He is an avid sports fan and loves sharing his interest with his friends and family.
Ralph Saunders, D.D.S.
It's good news that people are living longer and keeping their teeth more than ever before. Dr. Saunders' career has focused on caring for the oral health of older adults. He is actively involved in the practice, education and research related to geriatric dentistry.
