Living With Diabetes

Course Description

There is a lot involved in controlling diabetes. Learning is an ongoing process which gives you the power to understand, to balance, and to cope. Start out right by learning the diabetes basics.

Living with Diabetes is a basic teaching program offered with the American Diabetes Association. Teaching staff include doctors, registered dieticians and an exercise specialist. Classes are 3 hours long. Class time is 9:00am-12:30pm.

We welcome people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and a support person

Week 1:

What is Diabetes, Diabetes and Your Emotions. Healthy Food Choices part 1

Week 2:

Medications, Blood Sugars Patterns/Sick Day Management, Pharmacy

Week 3:

Diabetes and Exercise, Staying Healthy with Diabetes, Healthy Food Choices part 2

Time and Dates

Saturdays, 9:00am - 12:30pm
