Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice

Knowledge & Research: Key in Meeting Evolving Needs

At Highland Hospital, our effective shared governance structure facilitates the advancement of nursing research. Specifically, the Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice Council facilitates all research efforts through continual needs assessment, intervention, evaluation and thoughtful revision of approaches as deemed appropriate.

All members of the Department of Nursing at Highland are actively involved in facilitating research, as well as promoting the use of research and sources of evidence within their daily practice. Our nurses believe that evidence-based practice provides the foundation for sound decisions based on research implementation, practice changes and evaluation of effectiveness, all of which result in better patient outcomes.
