ED and Perioperative Services Welcome New Administrators

Highland welcomes Dan Richardson as Senior Program Administrator for Perioperative Services and Edward C. Englerth, III as Program Administrator for the Emergency Department and Emergency Observation Unit.

Richardson has worked as the Director of System Value Analysis Procurement and Supply Chain at the University of Rochester since December 2017. Previous to that role, he served as Highland's Director of Contracts and Materials Management for seven years. Prior to his time at Highland, he worked in several roles with increasing responsibility at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dan will provide oversight and direction of business operations, information systems, budget, communication, and clinical support functions of Perioperative Services.

He will work closely with Steve Finkelstein, M.D., Chief of Anesthesia, Alan Curle, M.D., Perioperative Services Medical Director, and in consultation with the Perioperative Services Executive Committee to maintain the OR block schedule with the goals of maximizing utilization of block time and responding to the strategic priorities of the hospital and system. He will also oversee Central Supply & Sterilization Services. 

He steps into the position previously held by Leslie Kuttruff who has returned to the University of Rochester to serve as the Administrator of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Englerth will be responsible for directing strategic business components, staff management, and operational and financial performance and will provide routine reports illustrating business growth and development to the hospital administration and finance departments. He will work closely with Timothy Lum. M.D., Chief of Emergency Medicine and Robert S. Bennett, M.D., Medical Director of the ED Observation Unit, as well as Lead APPs and Nursing leadership to accomplish departmental goals.

Englerth has worked in various positions at the University of Rochester Medical Center for the past 13 years and most recently served as Clinical Administrator II of Psychiatry. Previous to that role, he served as Administrator of Surgery Research. He holds a Masters of Medical Management from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester.

Englerth moves into the role previously held by Libby Jewsbury who is now Director of Census Management, Patient Flow, and Reporting at Highland.
