Course Summary

This activity is intended to change providers knowledge, to bridge the gap in unwarranted variation in care and lack of coordination of care for stroke and cerebrovascular disease patients.  And to provide updates in new treatments for stroke management. This program is designed for primary care physicians, interns, neurologists, neurosurgeons, emergency physicians, family physicians, radiologists, cardiologists, nurses, physician assistants nurse practitioners, and EMS personnel who care for patients with cerebrovascular disorders.

At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:

  • Review challenges in decision-making for intravenous thrombolysis and anticoagulation in stroke.
  • Review implications of Telestroke.
  • Review challenges with population management in

providing quality endovascular care.

  • Identify challenges in providing stroke care in

unique populations.

  • Discuss treatment options for cerebral aneurysms.
  • Review updates in the extracranial carotid disease management.
  • Review updates in the medical management of

carotid artery disease.

  • Review updates in recent interventional trials for

ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.

  • Review anti-seizure medications in patients

with stroke.
