2015 Cardiac Dysrhythmia Conference

Summary

This course is designed to provide health care providers with updates surrounding diagnostic and therapeutic options for a variety of heart rhythm disorders and to inform providers of the services available to assist in the management of such patients.

Effective treatment of heart rhythm disorders requires a multidisciplinary approach and encompasses a wide range of health care providers. This program addresses the needs of primary care providers, cardiologists, electrophysiologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and technicians.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

- Describe contemporary management of patients with atrial fibrillation
- Assess risk of and prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation
- Identify what diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are available to patients who have heart rhythm disorders
- Identify and explain the risks leading to sudden cardiac death and therapies that can improve survival
