This course is designed to provide APRNs and RNs with a summary of the most common laboratory tests obtained in pediatrics. Basic metabolic profile, CBC and differential, thyroid panel, lipid panel, iron studies and vitamin d will be reviewed. The indications for ordering, and normal and abnormal results will be shared.
After viewing this module participants should be able to:
Identify the elements of a basic metabolic profile as well as most common reasons for abnormal results.
Identify the elements of the CBC and differential as well as the most common reasons for abnormal results.
