Associations with development of familial dysbetalipoproteinemia (FD)Why not all subjects with the ε2ε2 genotype of the common polymorphism of apolipoprotein E (APOE) go on to develop Type III hyperlipidemia (FD) despite a strong association with the genotype is not known. We hypothesized that three understudied factors would play a significant role in FD development in ε2ε2 subjects.

Pathways of familial dysbetalipoproteinemia (FD) development assessed by Bayesian Network (BN) modeling

pathways of FDBN modeling is a probabilistic graphical data analysis approach that allows relationships among risk variables to be pictured in simple diagrams that can provide insights into pathophysiologic mechanisms, in this case to FD development with special regard to apolipoprotein E (apoE), high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particle composition, and insulin resistance.
