General Loan Periods
• Book/Theses -- 3 months
• Course Reserve Material -- 2 hours*
• Laptop, iPad,Charging Unit/Power Supply, Headphones -- 6 hours**
*Course reserve material checked out less than 2 hours prior to the Library closing are due back no later than fifteen minutes before close. Some course reserve materials may have a longer loan period, if requested by instructor.
**Equipment checked out or renewed less than 6 hours prior to the Library closing are due back no later than one hour before close.
Note: Bound journals do not circulate outside the Library.
Renewing material and placing a hold or a recall may be done in person, by phone, or online through the Library Catalog (Voyager).
Renewals - Most items can be renewed one time. For renewing online, see instructions for renewing an item online.
Holds - A hold can be placed if the item needed is already checked out. When the item is returned, the requestor will be notified. Holds are available for pick up at the Answer Desk.
Recalls - A recall notifies the borrower that the item has been requested by another user and indicates a revised due date, if applicable.
Note: Items with holds or recalls cannot be renewed.
Items not returned by the due date/time accrue overdue fines.
• Books/Theses -- 20¢/day, $10 maximum
• Course Reserve Material -- 75¢/hour, $10 maximum
• Laptop, iPad, Charging Unit/Power Supply, Headphones -- $5/hour, $35 maximum
Note: Recalled items accrue fines at the rate of $1/day.
If you have $15 or more in overdue fines or items that are more than one month overdue, your library privileges may be suspended. After two overdue notices are sent, an item is considered lost and replacement charges are billed.
Replacement costs plus a $20 processing fee is billed for lost or damaged items.

• Charging Unit/Power Supply, Headphones -- $50
Replacement costs and processing fees are cleared when a "lost" item is returned and the maximum overdue fine is applied.
Proxy borrowing allows faculty and staff to authorize designated individuals to check out library materials on their behalf. The faculty or staff member is responsible for materials.You may have multiple proxy borrowers and authorizations must be renewed on an annual basis.
