As you may be aware, the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry has incorporated iPads into the MD curriculum. This initiative increases the flexibility and ease of accessing information in the Double Helix curriculum and facilitates the exchange of information between medical students.
Students who matriculate into the MD curriculum can pick up their iPads beginning July 31st at the University IT Computer Sales Medical Center location. Students must present University ID (or other valid photo identification) to receive store credit for the iPad and iPad accessories.
Store credit has been provided to students for an iPad Air 2 (64GB Wi-Fi). Students wishing to upgrade beyond the standard model are required to pay the difference in cost, including tax. Students are also provided with an Accessory Credit of $70 that must be used towards any iPad (Air) related accessories (e.g., keyboard, case, stylus, Apple Care, etc.). The Accessory Credit is limited to a single transaction, and cannot be used towards an iPad upgrade. All upgrades must be paid for at the time of purchase (cash, MasterCard & Visa accepted).
IMPORTANT: You must have your iPad by the end of the day on August 12th. Due to limited stock & model options, you are encouraged to pick up your iPad early, before orientation. iPad pickup will include a 15-minute session for setup with a Miner Library consultant. Students have until August 30th to pick up iPad accessories. After this date, a standard case/keyboard will be provided.
