Miner Library’s expert staff is available to help you with accessing electronic resources, interlibrary loan service, expert literature searching, and Miner Library Computing & Zoom Tech Support.

  • Expert literature searching for clinical and research needs via zoom, chat, or email. Submit requests through Ask A Librarian on Miner’s homepage.
  • Accessing electronic resources. Access library digital collections remotely through a VPN connection or authentication with Active Directory or NetID credentials. For assistance, contact miner_information@urmc.rochester.edu.

  • Interlibrary Loan service available. Submit requests in ILLIAD interlibrary loan system. For questions about requests, renewals, returns, etc., contact MinerILL@urmc.rochester.edu.
  • Book Returns - due dates for Miner Library book loans and interlibrary loan books have been extended to July 2. If possible, please hold on to books and return them after the library has reopened. No late fees will be charged. If it is necessary for you to return a book prior to that time, here are some options:
  1. If you are already on-site at the Medical Center for another purpose, you can return books in the book drop outside the Miner Library.
  2. You can return books in the Rush Rhees book drop on River Campus. The book drop is located at the Library Road entrance behind the library building. It is between the iZone windows and the USPS boxes, labelled “Book Depository”. Items will be checked-in when the library reopens. No late fees will be charged.
  3. You may also return books by shipping them to: University of Rochester Medical Center, Edward G. Miner Library, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642.

  • Digitization of required Course materials currently available only in a print format, subject to limitations for copyright compliance. Requests to digitize print book chapters and articles may be submitted via miner_information@urmc.rochester.edu.
  • When Course Materials are not available in an electronic format and digitization is not possible, Liaison Librarians can also assist instructors in identifying and accessing alternative resources to use in their courses.
  • History of Medicine Reference assistance via email or Zoom by appointment. Provision of digital or photocopied items at the discretion of the curator. Please contact the Curator, Meredith Gozo or (585) 275-8827.
