Dr. Burris earned her Bachelor of Science degree in human biology, health and society from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She attended the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY where she earned her MD. Her pediatric residency and pediatrics chief residency were completed at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, NY. She is currently completing a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Burris has a particular focus of interest on food allergy and the factors that contribute to developing food allergy. Her research is aimed at understanding how breastmilk plays a role in the delivery of food antigens to infants and the potential impact or protection against food allergy development.
