Jennifer Barnas, MD, PhD
Dr. Barnas earned her bachelor of science degree from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She attended the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where she earned her MD as well as a PhD in the Microbiology and Immunology department. Her PhD thesis work focused on T cell and fibroblast interactions. Her internal medicine residency was completed at the University of Rochester as part of the ABIM research pathway track and she is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She has received clinical training in both rheumatology and allergy/immunology specialties. Her current research interest is focused on immune cell interactions within the renal microenvironment in lupus nephritis. She is currently developing a research project within lupus nephritis under the mentorship of Dr. Jennifer Anolik.
