Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship

Program Director

This ACGME accredited program offers core competency training in the clinical evaluation and management of neuromuscular disorders defined as diseases of the peripheral nerve, muscle, neuromuscular junction and anterior horn cell. The program provides training in the care of adult and pediatric neuromuscular patients in our  MDA, CureSMA, PPMD, ALSA certified NM clinics (Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic / Neuromuscular ClinicCharcot Marie Tooth (CMT) Inherited Neuropathy ClinicDuchenne Muscular Dystrophy ClinicALS Clinic, and Neuropathy Clinic). Training also includes performance and interpretation of muscle, nerve and skin biopsies and nerve conduction studies, repetitive nerve stimulation, needle EMG, nerve and muscle ultrasound, single fiber EMG, quantitative motor unit analysis and quantitative sensory testing. The opportunity to get involved in clinical research projects is also available.

The Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship is an ACGME accredited program. The ABPN subspecialty certification examination in Neuromuscular Medicine has been available since 2008.
