Getting Involved

The University of Rochester Neurology Supportive and Palliative Care Service holds a vision of a world where high quality person and family-centered care for people affected by neurological illnesses is the rule rather than the exception.  Towards this end, we have dedicated ourselves to providing outstanding team-based care to patients regardless of ability to pay, as well as to groundbreaking research, training the next generation of leaders in this field, and community advocacy.

Our program has benefited from the generous donations of grateful patients, families, and philanthropists interested in raising the standards of care for neurologic disease in Western New York and beyond.  Potential reasons to give to the University of Rochester Neurology Supportive and Palliative Care Service include:

  1. To honor a loved one who benefited from our clinic and services.
  2. To allow us to maintain clinical programs and services that are not covered by medical insurance and to continue our commitment to provide care to anyone who needs our services regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
  3. To allow us to create and expand the services we provide to patients, families, and the community.  This could include classes, art-based therapies, and financial/legal advising.
  4. To fund the training of the next generation of physicians, researchers, and other providers who can take this work to underserved areas and new levels of excellence.
  5. To accelerate our research and allow us to tackle new ideas, fund new investigators, create more powerful collaborations, and complete ongoing projects faster.

We are also interested in gifts of time, energy and ideas. If you are interested in volunteering to work with our group please contact us via Email: NeurologyPalliativeCare@URMC.Rochester.edu
Opportunities to volunteer may include serving as a peer guide (if you have experience as a person living with neurologic illness or as a care partner) or assisting us in our clinical, educational, research or outreach missions.
