Research

  • The UR Pediatric MS Center is working to participate in a therapeutic trial testing use of the oral medication fingolimod for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. This trial should be actively recruiting by early 2015.
  • The UR Pediatric MS Center has set up an association with the Pediatric MS Center of the Jacobs Neurological Institute in Buffalo, NY. Research studies currently recruiting at the Pediatric MS Center in Buffalo are accessible through the UR Pediatric MS Center (although travel to Buffalo is required for actual study participation).
  • Drs. Thompson-Stone and Goodman are members of the International Pediatric MS Study Group, which is a global network of adult and pediatric neurologists, clinicians, and representatives of MS societies. Members of this group are dedicated to ensuring optical healthcare, education, and research in pediatric MS and related disorders.
