Marcia Wallace to Speak at Breast Cancer Event

Marcia Wallace will be the keynote speaker at Highland Hospital's 19th Annual Breast Cancer Education Event, "Tickled Pink," starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 a the Hyatt Regency Rochester. The evening also will include an accessories auction, caricature artist, photo booth, hearty hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Proceeds will benefit Highland Breast Imaging.

Wallace is a breast cancer survivor, actress, humorist and author of the book, "Don't Look Back, We're Not Going That Way."  She received an Emmy for her role as Mrs. Edna Krabappel on "The Simpsons," and Wallace is well known for playing Carol Kester on "The Bob Newhart Show."  Wallace was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1985; since then, she has become a high-profile breast cancer awareness advocate.

Avice O'Connell, M.D., Director of Highland Breast Imaging, also will provide the latest news on breast cancer screenings and research. The event supports Highland Breast Imaging, which offers free screenings to women in the community who are uninsured and underinsured.
