Strong Behavioral Health To Hold National Screening Days for Mental Illness

Monday, January 18, 1999

Addictions, anxiety disorders and depression affect millions of Americans each year, impacting families, businesses, and health care. Strong Behavioral Health offers several programs to evaluate and treat these illnesses. In conjunction with national screening days for alcohol, anxiety, and depression, Strong Behavioral Health and Highland Center for Women are offering free screenings in an effort to help people identify their illnesses and provide information on how and where to receive treatment. On the Tuesdays preceding the screenings listed below, educational forums will be held at the School for the Arts, 45 Prince Street (corner of University Avenue) in Rochester. These forums are open to people with mental health problems, families of those afflicted with mental illness, and health care professionals. Forums are from 5:15 p.m to 8:30 p.m., including an hors d’oeuvre reception, a series of short presentations, and a question and answer period. Both the screenings and forums are free and open to the public.
