New Restaurant’s Opening Festivities Benefit Wilmot Cancer Center

Monday, January 30, 2006

When Camille’s Sidewalk Café opens in Pittsford Plaza on Monday, Feb. 6, each meal patrons order during the first week will benefit the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

A dollar from every order placed from Feb. 6-12 will be donated to the Wilmot Cancer Center, the region’s largest cancer center. Camille’s Sidewalk Café is located between Shear Ego and Radio Shack.

“Cancer has touched my family and I am proud to support research efforts to find cures,” said Michael Linehan, president of the local franchise.  He hopes to raise $4,000 during the grand opening festivities.

Linehan is opening this second café in the Rochester region.  Last year Linehan opened the first Camille’s Café on Park Avenue.

The Wilmot Cancer Center is the leading resource for cancer care and research for the Rochester region. Leaders are in the midst of a five-year campaign to raise $42.5 million to expand care and research and construct a new facility to accommodate the growing number of people seeking Wilmot’s expertise.
