Older Drivers’ Safety is Topic of Free Talk

The free To Your Health! educational series featuring health experts from the University of Rochester Medical Center continues in April at The Highlands at Pittsford with a program aimed at helping older drivers stay safe.
How Safe Behind the Wheel: Assessing and Supporting the Older Driver will be offered from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8. Led by geriatrician James B. Wood, M.D., medical director of The Highlands Living Center, the presentation will focus on encouraging older friends and relatives to regularly assess their driving and to make adjustments as needed.
The program will cover: • How professionals assess an older driver’s ability to continue driving,
• The warning signs that driving may no longer be safe, • Tips to increase the safety of an older driver,
• What to do if you are worried about a loved one’s driving.
