Wilmot Doctor to Discuss Advances in Leukemia Treatment Oct. 15

A leukemia expert from the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center will offer insight into the latest discoveries and advances in treatments during a free educational program at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Bella Lago Restaurant in Canandaigua.
Jane Liesveld, M.D., clinical director of the Samuel E. Durand Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, will lead the session, sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma. She will discuss new and emerging therapies for chronic and acute leukemia, stem cell transplantation and the role of clinical trials in the advancement of leukemia treatments.
A complimentary dinner will be provided at 5 p.m. followed by the program from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
