Miracle Weekend Will Leave a Memorable Mark on May

Every year on one very special weekend, Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center invites the community to celebrate and commemorate the many brave patients and families who come to the hospital seeking care. The children’s hospital’s Miracle Weekend, which consists of the Stroll for Strong Kids and the annual 10NBC Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31.
13th annual Stroll for Strong Kids (and 5K Run)
This year’s Stroll for Strong Kids is incorporating a new 5K Run. Both events, presented by M&T Bank, will be held Saturday, May 30, at a new location, the Wilson Quad on the University of Rochester’s River Campus. Registration for the certified 5K Run and the Stroll will be from 8 to 9 a.m., with the run beginning at 9 a.m. University of Rochester President Joel Seligman will lead the walk, which starts at 9:30 a.m.
Following the Stroll and 5K Run, there will be children’s activities, costumed characters, a concert by Gary the Happy Pirate and a free lunch provided by Subway for all participants. 26th annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon on 10NBC
Every year, children and families touched by Golisano Children’s Hospital come together to share their remarkable stories at the annual Children’s Miracle Network telethon, hosted by News10 NBC. This year’s five special Miracle Kids will appear on this live broadcast with their families, as will numerous other local families with extraordinary tales to tell about their experiences with Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The telethon, presented by Perkins Restaurants, will broadcast live from the Strong Memorial Hospital lobby, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 7 to 11 p.m., Sunday, May 31. To make a pledge during the event, please dial (585) 241-KIDS, or log on to www.gchas.org to make a gift electronically.
