UR Nursing Honor Society Chapter Epsilon Xi Hosts Regional Conference, Celebrates 30 Years

Sigma Theta Tau Epsilon Xi chapter is dedicated to supporting lifelong learning and professional development among nurses.
Epsilon Xi, the University of Rochester chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, will host the Sigma Theta Tau Regional Conference on Friday, March 30, from 8 a.m. to 3:45p.m., at Staybridge Suites, 1000 Genesee Street, Rochester. The conference will feature a variety of presentations by School of Nursing faculty on topics including translational science, palliative care, child/adolescent psychiatry and sleep disorders. The keynote speaker is Gerri Lamb, PhD, RN, FAAN, University of Rochester alumna and charter member of Epsilon Xi, who is currently an associate professor at Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation. The conference also marks the 30th anniversary of the University of Rochester Sigma Theta Tau Epsilon Xi chapter, which was chartered February 7, 1982, and currently has more than 400 active members. The chapter is dedicated to supporting lifelong learning and professional development among nurses. A 30th anniversary reception, honoring the chapter's members and celebrating its mission, will be held in the Saunders Research Building Atrium on Thursday, March 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the Clinical Translational Science Institute. Donations will also be accepted to Epsilon Xi’s “30 for 30” Scholarship and Research Campaign which supports nursing students, clinicians, and faculty with annual scholarship/research awards and sponsorships.
