Dine and Dance the Night Away to Help Golisano Children’s Hospital

Mar. 25, 2012
Join Team Taylor for the last Taylor Brush Memorial Dinner Dance

After a decade of enormous generosity, Jennifer and Tim Brush and the rest of Team Taylor prepare for the 10th and final Taylor Brush Memorial Dinner Dance, which has raised nearly $140,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Though this is the last year of the dinner dance, the Brushes will always remember the amazing support they have had, and their enthusiasm for giving back will carry over into their new fundraising endeavors.

Jennifer and Tim were the first-ever recipients of the Miracle Maker Award for Outstanding Commitment by a Grateful Parent in 2007. The Taylor Brush Memorial Dinner Dance that started 10 years ago as a small gathering to remember their daughter has turned into one of the most anticipated and well-attended fundraising events for Golisano Children’s Hospital.

“In looking back, I am amazed at the people who have been back to support us every year at each Dinner Dance,” said Jennifer Brush. “The Dinner Dance continued to grow strong because people begged us to keep it going.”

This year’s event promises to be the biggest and best one yet, with great food, dancing, raffles, and wine and beer tastings. All proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Social Work Division at Golisano Children's Hospital, which provides support and services to families with children staying at the children’s hospital.

While this beloved event is wrapping up, this is not the last you’ll see from Team Taylor. Jennifer Brush is partnering up with Deb Moyer, who celebrated the 12th and final Tim Milgate Golf Fundraiser last August, to raise funds for Golisano Children’s Hospital and other local non-profit organizations in a new venture, called TNT. For more details on the TNT Explosion kick-off event, set for Nov. 3 at Pier 45 at the Port, please contact Deb Moyer at (585) 352-6543 or DebMoyer17@aol.com. The new fundraising venture is yet another example of the Brushes’ dedicated commitment to help our region’s only children’s hospital.

“The generosity we’ve seen from Jennifer, Tim and the rest of Team Taylor has been wonderful,” said Mike Fahy, assistant director of advancement at Golisano Children’s Hospital. “They have provided amazing support to both the NICU and Pediatric Social Work teams for the past 10 years, and for that we are incredibly grateful.”

The 10th and final Taylor Brush Memorial Dinner Dance will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at the River’s Edge Party House on 31 Paul Road. Reservations are $30 per person or $50 per couple, and tables of eight or 10 can be reserved for $200 and $250, respectively. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time and can be reserved by contacting Jennifer Brush at (585) 314-3014 or tayryn@frontiernet.net.
