Gala Event Benefits Patient-Centered Care Initiatives at Strong Memorial Hospital

Feb. 5, 2017
An Evening of Fine Wine, Food, and Friends

Celebrating a vintage 26th year, the Friends of Strong Gala Wine Tasting is set to swirl at the historic Monroe Golf Club, Friday, Feb. 10, from 7 to 10 p.m., in support of patient- and family-centered care initiatives at UR Medicine’s Strong Memorial Hospital.

Friends of Strong, the hospital’s volunteer and fundraising organization holds the annual Wine Tasting in support of their mission to serve patients, families and visitors with exceptional care. All proceeds from the event go directly toward funding initiatives and programs, such as friendly volunteer faces, wheelchairs and safe-sleep infant swaddles for every baby born at Strong—all helping to create a happier healing environment for everyone.

The business-casual event will feature a selection of more than 100 local and international award-winning varietals, along with delicious hors d’oeuvres, desserts, the smooth sounds of a live pianist, and dozens of donated Rochester area items up for bid.

Last year’s event helped raise more than $15,000 toward giving a total of $921,950 to such patient care initiatives throughout Strong Hospital’s 40-plus departments and service areas.

“Financing these care-enhancing resources and programs wouldn’t be possible without the community’s continued support,” says Sandy Arbasak, director of Friends of Strong. “We simply can’t thank our volunteers, supporters and friends enough for coming out to help us celebrate and fund excellence in patient care.”

Reserve your tickets online at giveto.urmc.edu/fosgala for $75. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $90. For more information, call the Friends of Strong office at (585) 275-2420.
