UR Medicine Cardiac Rehabilitation Relocates, Expands

UR Medicine Heart and Vascular’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program is relocating and joining two busy Cardiology and Vascular surgery programs at 140 Canal View Office Park.
“Bringing our Cardiac Rehabilitation program together with those practices further expands the premiere outpatient cardiovascular location in Upstate New York,” said Joseph Delehanty, M.D., co-director of the Heart and Vascular Service Line.
Cardiac Rehabilitation has doubled its space in the new location. The 5,600-square-foot suite offers an indoor track, 24 pieces of exercise equipment and larger locker and education rooms.
“This is an exciting time for our patients and staff members, who have endured a space crunch for quite a while,” said Seth Jacobson, M.D., medical director of Cardiac Rehabilitation and part of Heart and Vascular’s Rochester Cardiopulmonary Group. The program has 11 staff members – nurses, exercise physiologists, respiratory therapists, dietitians and patient coordinator.
Cardiac rehabilitation is essential for patients recovering from heart attack and heart or pulmonary surgery. Caregivers support patients as they regain strength and their quality of life, and educate them about lifestyle changes that can help prevent further hospitalization and illness. For many participants, the program lasts three to six months.
