Craft Beer and Food Pairing Benefits Patient Care at Strong Memorial Hospital

Thursday, October 12, 2017

A selection of craft brews attendees can expect to sample at the Friends of Strong fundraiser.

Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital is hosting its fifth annual Friends in Good Taste Beer & Food Pairing in support of patient- and family-centered care programs at the Hospital. Gather your friends to enjoy samples of seasonal and house favorites, paired with a decadent selection of small bites to please your taste buds, at Three Heads Brewing Company on Saturday, Oct. 14, from Noon to 3 p.m.

Kick back and take in a live performance from acoustic guitarist Alphonso Williams while you relax with friends in the outdoor beer garden, or play some corn hole, giant jenga, foosball, pin ball, or arcade games. You can even tour Three Heads’ state-of-the-art brewing facility to see how your favorite brews are made!

“We’re very happy to offer this unique setting for the community to gather in support of patients and families here at Strong,” says Sandy Arbasak, director of Friends of Strong. “It’s a casual, relaxed event where you can sample the tastes of some of Rochester’s best restaurants, along with a great selection of beverages from one of our area’s premier craft brewing companies.”

In addition to beer and food, attendees receive a commemorative Three Heads tasting glass to bring home, and can peruse an array of silent auction items—including a pair of round-trip airline tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S.

Tickets are $35 each via fos.urmc.edu or at the door. For questions or more information, please contact the Friends of Strong at (585) 275-2420. You must be at least 21 years of age to attend and ID is required.

Established in 1975, Friends of Strong supports the mission of Strong Memorial Hospital by raising funds and providing volunteer services that enhance patient care.

In 2016, more than 1,300 volunteers donated nearly 142,000 hours of service, and helped raise funds to purchase items such as patient wheelchairs, oxygen monitors, digital imaging systems, and newborn swaddles for every baby born at Strong.
