2018 URMC Board Excellence Awards Honor Inspiring Individuals, Teams
Thirteen individuals and four teams were honored by the University of Rochester Medical Center Board on Jan. 22 for excellence in their roles and the superior care given to their patients and colleagues each day.
Thomas S. Richards, URMC Board Chair, presented the 2018 Board Excellence Awards to some of the institution’s most exceptional staff, clinicians, nurses and physicians. “This year’s Excellence Award winners deliver across-the-board integrity, inclusion, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence in their respective roles. Their continual creativity, empathy and initiative make URMC truly the highest order of medicine,” noted Richards at the awards ceremony.
Individual Excellence Awards were presented to:
- Katy Lees, Business Manager, Pharmacy – Finance and Administration
- Julie Maslyn, Secretary IV, Regional Administration
- Paul Athilingam, Data Manager, Pharmacy Revenue Integrity, Supply Chain
- Trent McNish, Parking Services Representative, Transportation and Parking Department
- Renee Robinson, Nurse Practitioner, Center for Perioperative Medicine
- Amy Terranova, R.N., Assistant Nurse Manager, WCC6
- Linda Lipani, Registrar and Director of Student Affairs, Eastman Institute of Oral Health
- Christine Groth, Pharm.D., MICU Clinical Pharmacist, Adult Intensive Care
- Ben Wandtke, M.D., Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, F.F. Thompson Hospital
Robert Joynt Kindness Awards were presented to:
- Gary Myers, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics, Neurology and Environmental Medicine
- Marsha Wittink, M.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine
- Lynn Miller, R.N., Strong West Emergency Department
- Amy Jerum, D.N.P., Director of Workforce Development, Complex Care Center
Team Excellence Awards were presented to:
- Emergency Department Team, Strong Memorial Hospital
- Simulation for Operating Room Safety (SIMORS) Team
- Ambassadors & Guest Services Team
- Transplant Financial Counseling Team
