University of Rochester Geneticist Named Journal Editor

Peter T. Rowley, M.D., chief of the Division of Genetics at the University of Rochester Medical Center, has been named co-editor-in-chief of the medical journal, Genetic Testing.
This quarterly peer-reviewed journal focuses on all aspects of genetic testing, including prenatal diagnosis, risk assessment, clinical consequences of molecular genetics, results of population screens and targeted testing, methodologies, strategies, and ethical and legal issues.
Rowley, professor of medicine, pediatrics, genetics, microbiology, immunology, and oncology, has been with the Medical Center for 32 years. He is a recognized expert in the area of hereditary susceptibility to cancer.
A graduate of Harvard College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Rowley joined the Medical Center in 1970 after working at Stanford University, the University of London and the National Institutes of Health.
