Rochester River Run 5K to Benefit Organ Transplant Programs

Individuals and teams are invited to participate in Friends of Strong’s fifth annual Rochester River Run 5K, to be held Aug. 6 at the Genesee Junction Pavilion in Genesee Valley Park. Pledges collected by participants who walk or run will go toward patient housing for the organ transplant programs at Strong Memorial Hospital of the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The Rochester River Run 5K course is certified to be accurate by USATDF/RRTC and computerized racing results will be offered. A 1-mile course for walkers has been added for those who prefer a shorter distance.

Registration will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The event begins at 9 a.m. with runners, followed immediately by walkers. T-shirts will be given to all participants and prizes will be awarded to top finishers in numerous categories. Refreshments will follow.
